A NuoDB domain is a collection of machines or cloud instances that have been provisioned to work together to support one or more NuoDB databases. Each database can run on one or more hosts in the domain.
To perform administrative tasks, such as creating a database or shutting down a Transaction Engine (TE), you must determine if you plan to use NuoDB Admin TLS secure domain authentication. By default, TLS authentication is enabled. In Docker container deployments of NuoDB, for example Red Hat OpenShift, a default TLS key is distributed with the product. In physical deployments of NuoDB, you must provide a TLS key. You can use NuoDB’s NuoDB Command’s (
nuocmd) sub-command TLS key generating function, or generate your own TLS keys.
For more information on how to manage admin TLS authentication, see Configuring TLS Security.
