Using Database Templates

NuoDB simplifies database administration by automating the database engine process life-cycle. Starting, maintaining, and scaling out a database is governed and automated through a Service Level Agreement (SLA)A contract between two or more parties that defines services to be delivered. NuoDB templates are an example of an SLA., called a template. Starting processes is performed by what we call the enforcer.

The template describes the defaults for all processes of a given database (such the commit protocol) as well as how many processes are supposed to be run on what hosts in the domain to meet the minimum and maximum requirements of a database.
