Setting Process Requirements for Managed Databases

The process requirements for a template are set up as a simple set of rules. These requirements include a minimum and maximum number of SMs and TEs. If the minimum requirement is not met, additional processes are automatically started. Each built-in template defines two process groups. One process group contains transaction engines and the other process group contains storage managers.

Process requirements are specified under Requirements>> . You can specify a minimum and maximum number of processes for each process group in each region, if there is more than one region.

If process requirements for the database are not met, the database status is UNMET. The list of process requirements is evaluated in order and the position of any unmet requirement is shown in the UNMET message.
