Prior to the release of NuoDB release 3.4, any domain member could bootstrap the domain, which is the process that makes the initial membership durable and assigns a unique ID for the domain. This may result in split domains, that is, a scenario where two or more domains are created when one only domain is desired.
To define one or more NuoDB Admin processes capable of performing domain bootstrap, set a value for the
NUODB_BOOTSTRAP_SERVERID environment variable which reflects the server ID in
initialMembership. For example, set the value to the admin process load balancer name, which reflects the server ID in initialMembership.
