Storage groups are serviced by zero or more archives. For a storage group to be available, it must be serviced by at least one archive that has a running SM. The following rules apply to storage groups:
UNPARTITIONED
storage group. An archive may service zero or more specific (named) storage groups, added using NuoDB Command's add storage-group
command.UNPARTITIONED
storage group. In addition to associating a table with multiple storage groups, a table can be created and assigned to just one storage group.Note: In a database with multiple storage groups, a SM may service more than one storage group (more than one logical partition has the same physical location) and a storage group may be serviced by more than one SM (for redundancy and availability).
