In SQL Explorer, when you initiate execution of a query SQL Explorer can wait for a response from the database for no more than the setting of Connection Timeout. Connection Timeout is a NuoDB SQL Explorer setting and you can change the default of 300 seconds by clicking (Options) in the Database Hierarchy menubar. For example, with the default setting of 300 seconds, if you initiate a query and SQL Explorer does not get a response after 300 seconds then SQL Explorer displays an error dialog that indicates the timeout. This dialog gives you the opportunity to increase the timeout and re-execute the query.
At any time, while waiting for a response, you can select Stop from the query editor menubar. This instructs SQL Explorer to stop waiting for a response from the database. The database continues to execute the query to completion.
