Creating Indexes Using SQL Explorer

To create an index:

  1. In the context tree, select the table or table object that you want to add the index to.
  2. In the Database Hierarchy menubar, click (New) | Index. SQL Explorer opens a query tab and displays a form that defines a skeleton index. It looks something like this:
  3. Modify this as needed. As you do, SQL Explorer updates the statement in the SQL Data Definition panel.
  4. When you are done, click Execute in the menubar to build and save the index.

To cancel the addition of an index, close the tab in which you are defining the index.
