Prior to the release of NuoDB release 3.4, any domain member could bootstrap the domain, which is the process that makes the initial membership durable and assigns a unique ID for the domain. This may result in split domains, that is, a scenario where two or more domains are created when one only domain is desired.
To define one or more NuoDB Admin services capable of performing domain bootstrap or allowing non-initial member peers to enter a domain, set a value for the
initialMembership property in
nuoadmin.conf. To complete bootstrap, a majority among initial membership peers is required. If values for both
peer are specified (in
nuoadmin.conf), any admin services which are not in the initial membership are added after the domain is bootstrapped. For more information on
nuoadmin.conf properties, see Configuring Admin Processes.
